Getting Here by Car

Head for downtown Long Beach and make your way to Ocean Boulevard, the main east–west street along the top of the waterfront. From Ocean Boulevard, go one block north on Elm Avenue or Linden Avenue to reach 1st Street; House of Hayden is on 1st Street between those two avenues. If you are using a navigation app, search for “House of Hayden, 421 E 1st St, Long Beach” and it will take you to the door.

Parking Near the Bar

Street parking is available on the blocks around the bar in the East Village. Read the posted signs carefully – downtown parking rules, time limits and street-sweeping days vary from block to block. On busy nights, such as Second Saturday art walk evenings, allow a few extra minutes to find a space, or leave the car at home and use the train or a rideshare instead.

Getting Here by Metro Train

The Metro A Line runs between Los Angeles and downtown Long Beach, and its 1st Street station on Long Beach Boulevard is about two blocks west of the bar. From the station, walk east along 1st Street, cross Elm Avenue, and you will find House of Hayden on 1st Street before you reach Linden Avenue. It is the simplest way to visit if you are coming from elsewhere in Los Angeles County and do not want to drive home.

Walking From Around Downtown

Downtown Long Beach is compact and easy to walk. From Pine Avenue and the rest of the downtown restaurant area, head east on 1st Street past Long Beach Boulevard into the East Village. From the waterfront, walk north to Ocean Boulevard and then one more block north to 1st Street. The East Village galleries, shops and coffee houses are all within a few blocks, so the bar is an easy stop on an evening out.
